JWC Memorial Foundation

After the passing of Joanne (Wilder) Charles, her sister Anne Laverne along with Joanne’s daughters, Atiya and Tamiko, wanted to find a way to honor her memory of Joanne. Thus they started the I Walk for Joanne Annual Walk to raise funds to bring ovarian cancer awareness to the community, especially those citizens in rural communities/areas and raise funds to further ovarian cancer research. This walk has blossomed into the Joanne W. Charles Memorial Foundation to continue supporting that mission.
